Roaming Brood

We left Kuala Lumpur and drove 1.5 hours south to get to Melaka. The pool in our apartment building was really nice!  We could see the ocean from our room too. Lots of infinity pools in Asia - I like them a lot At night, we went to the big Jonker Street Night Market.  We ate really yummy satay and tried different treats. Malaysia?  Who actually goes to Malaysia, right?  I mean, people transit through KL all the time... but who actually goes there?  We do! KL - a world-class city Malaysia is a very popular tourist destination . If you're thinking: "hunh?" , you're not alone. Globally, it's a top destination, but not for Western tourists. It bring in visitors from all over Asia instead - and with fervour. 26M visitors arrived in Malaysia in 2016.  In the late 80's Malaysia started really promoting itself internationally.   Since then, it has become a tourism juggernaut. We arrived to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after a 3-hour flight from Danang, Vietnam which was a 45-minute drive from Hoi An. Downtown Kuala Lumpur The first thing we noticed about Kuala Lumpur was how clean it was.  It was modern, organized and people were very friendly.  The kids couldn't get over all the high rises! Kuala Lumpur was incredibly hot and humid, averaging 40 degrees!  We decided to avoid the heat by spending the better part of the day indoors in the air-conditioning. Melting in the heat We spent our first day at a fantastic museum!  The museum was located in the Petronas Towers and, because of the Coronavirus, they checked our temperatures before letting us in.
